Broadcom Bcm43Xx 1.0 Firmware Mac OS X 10Broadcom Bcm43Xx 1.0 Firmware Drivers On AHow can I update it Could someone give me the complete idiots bullet points to downloadupdating device firmwaredrivers on a Mac Thanks:-). When I do this the adapter is not listed but I do see a new version of Mac OS X. Does this mean I am forced to do a bundle update Is there a way I can do just the adapter Thanks. That said, unless you are having issues I would not worry about it at all. Im a firm believer in the old adage, if it aint broke, dont fix it. Apple DO NOT release driver updates individually unless there is a known bug or issue with a hardware component. These updates will be delivered through the Software Update system in OSX. Broadcom Bcm43Xx 1.0 Firmware Install The DriverIf you choose to track down and install the driver updates yourself, youre on your own in terms of support from Apple or elsewhere as the consequences are unknown. Second, as Apple produce all their own hardware and OSX, they are able to test updates to OSX on a wide range of their hardware to ensure reliable upgrades. It does mean that they tend to wait for OSX updates to implement driver updates for some hardware and software elements. For example the webserver Apache which is inbuilt in OSX is usually several releases behind the latest build available as it takes Apple months to test prior to an OSX update. Therefore although Im not surprised Broadcom have a newer driver, itll be included in an OSX upgrade after months of testing and will probably require an OSX upgrade from you to benefit from it. Remember Apple is not like Microsoft in that they control (for good or for bad) the entire ecosystem of hardware and software so you are NOT required to update hardware or firmware separately from the OS as you have to do on Windows. Apple include all the drivers for all hardware in their desktops and laptops in OSX by default. Third, do you know why or what you will gain from this driver upgrade Again as Michael has said. It can be done. but my first rule, second rule and third rule are BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP beforehand and be sure you can restore from those backups before you begin as you could render OSX unbootable with the wrong change to some system files. I am not sure it is the firmwares fault but I am exploring the avenue. I would like to download only once from the internet, then use an internal location (or a USB) to update the rest.
